The website was redesigned in February 2005 using XHTML and style sheets (CSS) in line with accessibility guidance issued by the World Wide Web consortium. Page content is now dynamically generated using active server pages (ASP).

ASP.net application that allows Scottish universities and higher education institutions to provide course information for students to search. The project was built and hosted externally until 2006. The transfer and changes to the ASP.net application were undertaken to make the login area more secure.

Working for - ICON.net Limited - 2001 to 2004

Work process:
The graphic design team creates a layout in the form of an Adobe Photoshop layered file (.psd). I take this file and cut out the appropriate images, using Adobe Photoshop. HTML background colours are used where possible, reducing the number of images used, thus lowering the download size of the page. It is important to optimise image size and quality, creating GIF, JPEG or PNG files as appropriate. Once the HTML page layout is complete, I add functionality using JavaScript (e.g. menu systems) or ASP VBScript (e.g. forms, clocks, counters, rotating images, database queries) and generate the pages. To control formatting and layout issues, styles and CSS style sheets are added. All script and mark-up editing is done using AceHTML.

This website was put together within two days to meet a tight deadline. For easy maintenance I used .JS include files, which allow me to edit the header and footer for all pages at once.

We were not able to use ASP scripting on this site so I used JavaScript include files for easy maintenance and PHP scripting for the form-to-mail contact page.

For this website I was provided with translations into German, French, Italian and Spanish. Here again I use ASP include files to generate the same layout pages for all languages.

This is Norville Limited's 2003 look. I migrated the old website, including all e-commerce and database pages, into the new design layout. This site also links to NLS Online, an online order form for existing business customers.

A website that stands out through its simplicity; again ASP technology provides easy maintenance.

This site went live in January 2003. I used styles to achieve our designer's layout suggestions and ASP scripting to enable dynamic content. Credits have to go to Ben for the Flash animation, James for the design suggestion, and to all copywriters.

I designed a searchable database to enable users to find voluntary groups in the Gloucester Area.

The Report It! Form allows users to make a pre-selection on the type of incident they want to report to the City Council. The form is then posted to the right department and an appropriate confirmation message is displayed to the user.

I transferred 249 pages of web-content to the current site layout in 2001/2002.
I also maintained the site, updating forms and scripts. Gloucester City Council uses our OTPS content management system, which enables them to update page content on a day-to-day basis.
